Sometime you get chances to visit places with languages you don’t understand.
To learn new language is difficult, but try to remember some words.
They might ‘save’ you. Here are 5 of them :
WHERE’S TOILET – Imagine if nature calls but you don’t know how to ask people about toilet. Disaster. And believe me, it is difficult to find the right gesture or body language to represent toilet without embarassing yourself.
WATER – You should remember this simply because usually it’s not on the menu and sometime what you want is just a glass of water.
EXCUSE ME – You always need help from someone. If you make the wrong first move, they will think you are rude, and your chance getting help is not good. So, always know how to call someone in polite manner.
HOW MUCH – Shopping always become an interesting part of travelling. You have to be able to express that you want to buy. So.. learn how to speak “How much” in their language to start and let calculator take over the remaining conversation.
THANK YOU/YOUR WELCOME – Basic phrase that will bring joy. You need to understand when someone thanking you, and how to reply. Or in other case, you need to thank someone.
Well.. I always find that phrases useful.
Other phrases can be replaced by body language or gesture.
