This movie has all the components of a good romantic comedy.
The couple should’ve been winning combo.
Matthew McConaughey (the sexiest man 2005) and the adorable Sex and the City girl, Sarah Jessica Parker.
However, at least in my opinion, they’re not a lovely “romantic comedy couple”. Parker is not Meg Ryan, and McConaughey is not John Cussack or Hugh Grant.
The story is also promising. Parents try to hire a girl to make their son move out of the house. Some silly but funny scenes are also there (the animals are so funny, reminding me of the dog from There’s Something About Mary).
Great supporting characters (and the cast is so great… Kathy Bates!).
Good soundtracks.
But it’s just so-so movie for me.
I think it’s the script. So… typical.
Not witty or memorable.
