The Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta offers peaceful elegance(true!) in the heart of Indonesia’s capital. Our beautifully landscaped gardens (YES True!), fine restaurants (one of the best in town!) and serene quarters provide a relaxing retreat (definitely true) for discerning travelers.
Last month, we spent the weekend at the Shangri-la Jakarta (They charge over $100 a night – though I paid less) to get a taste of a five star hotel and we were not disappointed at all. The breakfast at SATOO was great. The service is a credit to the Shangri-La label —friendly and prompt. All the staff are generally friendly & helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are vast kings with decent pillows and soft linen. We also get complimentary use of the hotel’s spa facility. They have exercise equipment and a jacuzzi (cold & hot), sauna and steam room. The whole hotel (rooms and open areas) all had this floral scent that was just make everything smell fresh. All seemed good, very good.
And lucky me, have another chance to stayed at Shangri-La Surabaya (Rp 850K per night incl taxes, weekdays rate) for business. Not as wonderful as Shangri-La Jakarta, and rather I’d prefer to stay at JW Marriott while in Surabaya, but indeed it was enjoyable! The breakfast at JAMOO was magnificent – not the widest buffet range like in Jakarta, but what was there was tasty and fresh.
If you are looking for a five star hotel while staying in Jakarta or Surabaya, I strongly urge you to consider Shangri-La as your destination.
