Call them slapstick and cannot act, but laugh is a very expensive thing. And IMHO, comedian is very challenging occupation.
JIM CARREY….. although now he’s into serious stuff, he cannot deny his past being a slapstick character, such as Ace in “Ace Ventura”, “Liar Liar”, “Dumb and Dumber”, and “Mask”.
STEVE MARTIN….. love him since watching “Father of the Bride”, and “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”. Very funny with his very flexible face muscle.
WILL FERREL…. my current favourite comedian. Can act hillariously funny in grumpy way (“Old School”) and dumb way (“Old School”).
BEN STILLER…. actually he has a very serious look, but can turn immediately into a funatic like he did in “Meet the Parents” and “There’s Something About Mary” . His team up with Wilson brother (Owen & Luke) and Vince Vaughn is always funny.
EDDIE MURPHY… a man with thousand faces but still his birth-face is the funniest… his big smile in “Coming to America”, “Daddy Day Care”, “Nutty Professors” is so unforgettable.
ADAM SANDLER… like Jim Carrey, he tries to act seriously in some movies, but I like his comedy act more such as in “Happy Gilmore”, “Mr. Deeds”, and “Wedding Singer”.
MARTIN LAWRENCE… some people compare him with Will Smith, but Martin Lawrence is pure comedy actor. It would be a disaster if he plays in “Pursuit of Happiness”. He is so slapstick with his big ears and mouth when playing in “National Security”, “Big Momma House”, and “Blue Streak”.
SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT… always be the disgusting and quite stupid person like in “American Pie” and “Dude Where’s My Car”, wonder if he can be like Jim Carrey.. going to serious stuff.
STEPHEN CHOW… born to be a comedian… disgustingly and innovatively funny. So many titles that I cannot mention what is best. Although Kungfu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer were the hits, but his old movies are funnier.
DONO WARKOP… time for Indonesian… Bing Slamet, Ateng, Jojon might be funny, but Dono is the funniest. His face is terribly funny. With Warkop, he defined Indonesia’s slapstick with their movies. Well, many copycats from Western movies, but whatever critics said about Warkop’s movies, Warkop has made millions of Indonesian people laugh.
