It's Life

[quote] Zen : “Finger Pointing at the Moon”

“…to point at the moon a finger is needed, but woe to those who take the finger for the moon… ”

This short sentence is so.. so .. true, and has a very deep meaning.Zen

So many times, we fall for the finger, not the moon.

We eat and digest words from people, but not the meaning or the reason behind what they’re saying.

Motives are stronger than words. But it is so much easier to listen to words rathen than understand the motive. We always think about giving the perfect answer, while asking the right question is so much more important .

Peter Drucker (my management guru hahaha), once said that in business, when someone ask you for an advise or opinion, you can always answer by asking : “So what do you think it should be and why?”

You will find how this short question will help.

So many times, we attract people to pay attention to our finger, not the moon.

We use harsh words, high tones, unnecessary information. Well it may succeed to convey your emotion, but not to convey your message. You will end up battling in unworthy war.
When you read email or listen to what people say, try to remove all the finger, and go for the moon. Like catching fish. You do not need the bait. You need the fish.

So get the fish, and stop wasting time talking and fighting about the bait.

🙂
