Pas ke Aussie September 2004 kemaren, kami dititipi seorang temen untuk beliin kamusnya klingon. Klingon nih bahasa yang diciptakan untuk filmnya Star Trek. Ada institutenya sendiri lho buat belajar, bahkan mereka menyediakan scholarship buat yang belajar disana. Setelah hunting di banyak toko buku dan banyak kota juga, akhirnya nemu deh kamus yang dimaksud di kota Melbourne di toko buku yang emang khusus jual buku-buku science fiction.
Klingon language (tlhIngan Hol in Klingon) is an artificial language devised by a linguist named Dr Marc Okrand for the Star Trek movies.
Klingon is significantly different grammatically from english. Klingon verbs have no tense, like bahasa Indonesia. The basic structure of the Klingon sentence is Object-Verb-Subject. (e.g: to the museum you go)
Along the way it has achieved a popularity far beyond anything its creator could ever have imagined. You can even learn Klingon at Klingon Language Institute.
My feeling about the language has always been bemused by the amount of time and energy people will spend to create and maintain something like this.
I have a friend who can speak this language! He study and practice the language for expressing useful everyday sentiments.
