I watched Bruce Almighty. Typical slapstick (bringing the moon closer??) comedy from Jim Carrey.
So when there is a sequel With similar title, I don’t even put it on my movies-to-watch list.
When I finally watched the movie, I really think this is not the same concept at all.
The story is quite good and funny.
Several good things about this movie :
1. The casts. Steve Carrell is not comedian with funny and rubber face like Jim Carrey or Eddie Murphy. Jonah Hill (Superbad) and Wanda Hykes are also funny.
2. The movie makes you think. For me, I asked myself what I will do if I am certain that I get message from God to do something silly. Would I do that? Or if I have people close to me doing stupid things with their belief, will I support them and stand by them?
3. Good songs like Revolution and Waiting on the World to change.
4. The animals are just funny (although CGI).
5. Although a little bit patronising, I like the concept of changing the world by Act of Random Kindness.
