[song] The Way You Look Tonight

Although my fav musician is the Beatles, this is my most favourite song.

The song catched my attention when I watched My Best Friend’s Wedding, in the scene when Julia Roberts presented this song to his best friend.

And from Wiki, later on I knew this song was the Oscar winning soundtrack in Swing Time (1936), sung by Fred Astaire.

In my music library, I currently have 24 versions of this songs, including the original : Bing Crosby, Chad&Jeremy, Clarissa Monteiro, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire (2 versions), Harry Connick Jr, The Jaguars, Kris Allen, Madeleine Peyroux, Margaretha Whiting, Maroon 5, Michael Buble, Michael Feinstein, Michael Lynche, Peggy Lee & Benny Goodman, Phil Collins, Quino McWhinney, Rod Stewart, Steve Tyrell, Terry Thompson, Tony Bennet, Westlife.

Here’s the lyrics :

Some day, when I’m awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you…
And the way you look tonight.

But you’re lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart…
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.

Lovely … Never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won’t you please arrange it ?
‘Cause I love you … Just the way you look tonight.

Mm, Mm, Mm, Mm,
Just the way you look to-night.
