Waktu melihat bagian depan dari film Radio<\/a> ini, ada seorang cowok yang keliatannya bodoh dan jelek sekali maen2 dengan shopping cartnya, so retarded! .. tapi pas dipikir2 kayaknya sering liat nih cowok.. sampe pas muncul nama2 pemaennya .. astaga, ternyata Cuba Gooding, Jr<\/strong>. Pantesan aza familiar, tapi he\u2019s look so different dari peran2 sebelumnya.<\/p>\n

True story, critanya tentang persahabatan seorang cowok kulit hitam yang terbelakang tapi tulus-Radio<\/strong> (yang suka banget dengan radio (mendengarkan dan mbenerin) makanya dia dipanggil \u2018Radio\u2019) dan high school football coach-Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ibu Radio adalah seorang perawat yang menghabiskan waktunya 16 jam sehari di rumah sakit, jadi Radio lebih sering sendiri keliling kota dengan membawa shopping cart, mengambil apapun yang bisa diambil. Diperjalanannya keliling ini, dia melewati sekolah dimana Coach Jones sedang melatih teamnya dan selalu melihat team football berlatih dari luar pagar. Sampai suatu hari bola sepak tersebut terlempar keluar pagar, Radio mengambilnya dan membawanya pergi. Oleh team yang marah, suatu hari Radio \u2018disiksa\u2019. Coach Jones yang menyelamatkan Radio dan menghukum seluruh anggota teamnya yang terlibat dalam penyiksaan tersebut.<\/p>\n

Disinilah awal mula persahabatan antara Radio & Coach Jones. Coach Jones mengajarkan Radio untuk membaca, menjadi \u2018normal\u2019; tetapi Radio juga mengajarkan Coach Jones tentang ketulusan & semangat. Makanya di akhir cerita, Coach Jones bilang: “We’re not teaching Radio, Radio is teaching us.”<\/p>\n

Bukan saja memang ceritanya bagus, tapi mengajarkan kita bahwa we should care enough for the life of another. Tanggung jawab kita bukan saja atas hidup kita, tetapi juga hidupnya orang lain juga. Apapun yang kita mau orang lain perbuat buat kita, perbuatlah itu juga untuk mereka.<\/p>\n
