Coleslaw

The term, “cole slaw”, arose in the 18th century as a partial translation from the Dutch term “koolsla”, a shortening of “koolsalade”, which means “cabbage salad”. It was commonly called cold slaw in England until the 1860s when “cole” (meaning cabbage) was revived. “Cole” originates from the Latin, colis, meaning “cabbage”, and is the origin of the Dutch word as well. In addition to calling it “coleslaw,” U.S. Southerners also refer to it as “slaw.” Because of this the two syllables and the establishment of “slaw” as its own word, various other kinds of “slaw” are now known, such as broccoli slaw

Simple, bisa jadi pelengkap ikan bakar; disiapkan sehari sebelumnya. Prinsipnya adalah irisan dari kol hijau & mayonnaise (mirip okonomiyaki, kol & tepung okono-nya)

Ingredients:
Dressing
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 sdt gula/madu
1 buah lemon, diperas
garam & merica untuk perasa

Isian
(iris tipis panjang atau hancurkan kasar dengan FP)
½ bagian kol hijau
1 buah wortel
¼ kol ungu

(Untuk bumbu: bisa ditambahkan pula olive oil, sour cream, vinegar ataupun yoghurt. Untuk isian, bisa juga dicampur dengan: nuts, peas, wijen, keju, raisins dan buah: apel, nanas, anggur)

Directions:
1. Campur mayonnaise, cuka & gula. Tambahkan garam & merica sampai rasanya pas.
2. Masukkan Isiannya, campur sampai rata. Diamkan selama 15 menit, atau siapkan malam untuk dimakan besok paginya: taro dalam wadah dengan tutup rapat & masukkan dalam lemari es. Hidangkan dingin.
